Services/ Family

Hilary Escott is a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel and has considerable experience in dealing with matrimonial work including Divorce, Judicial Separation, Separation Agreements and Ancillary matters. At a time when relationships are under stress we try to settle matters as amicably as possible and to avoid the need to resort to Court Hearings if at all feasible. It helps to have someone who is independent and not emotionally involved looking at the facts and trying to obtain the best and fairest result available and ensuring that agreements are placed on a formal footing by way of Court Order where appropriate.

Unmarried couples, either single sex or heterosexual, also need assistance in settling matters between themselves at times of relationship breakdown. Again Hilary Escott is able to help and provide Living Together agreements setting out what has been agreed between the parties as to financial matters to avoid the possibility of misunderstanding and to provide evidence of what was intended should the relationship fail and there be any dispute.

In many relationship breakdowns there are, of course, children to consider and it is important that the relationship between them and both parents is maintained with as little upset as possible. If necessary application can be made to the Court for Parental Responsibility Order for unmarried fathers and Contact or Residence Orders for either parent.

All the staff at Harvey, Escott & Co. are friendly, sympathetic and approachable and aim to provide an efficient level of service whilst being supportive in what is otherwise a stressful experience for clients.
